Internships & Volunteering

Learn by Doing | Serve with Heart | Grow Through Connection

Bodhi Tree Educational Foundation volunteer at school

At the Bodhi Tree Educational Foundation, we invite you to do more than visit—we invite you to belong.

Through two distinct pathways—Rural Immersion Internships and Volunteering—you’ll become part of a movement rooted in education, compassion, and community.

Both are powerful. Both are transformative. But they are also very different in intention, structure, and depth of engagement.

Rural Immersion Internships

Structured | Project-Based | Purpose-Led Learning

Our internships are designed for students, graduates, and emerging changemakers who want to integrate academic learning with real-world impact. You’ll be guided through a project-based immersion that aligns with your interests and supports the ongoing development of Bodhi Tree School and its wider community.

Interns are encouraged to co-create, take initiative, and engage deeply with grassroots education and sustainability.

You may be part of:

  • Designing sustainability projects (e.g. composting, kitchen gardens, solar energy concepts)

  • Leading creative workshops in art, music, drama, photography, or storytelling

  • Supporting infrastructure beautification (murals, canteen initiatives, library corners)

  • Developing fundraising ideas or digital media campaigns

  • Hosting cultural exchange events and bilingual storytelling experiences

  • Building advocacy or university partnership proposals

Includes structured mentorship, reflective learning, and a certificate of completion. Perfect for university credit, gap year exploration, or soul-aligned career building.

Volunteering at Bodhi Tree

Flexible | Heart-Led | Service Through Presence

Volunteering is for those called to give their time, energy, and care to support the daily rhythm of the school. No formal background is needed—just a willingness to connect, serve, and learn.

Each day is unique and shaped by both the needs of the school and your personal gifts. You’ll become part of the fabric of village life while supporting children, teachers, and community initiatives in simple, soulful ways.

Volunteers may:

  • Assist in classrooms and offer extra learning support

  • Support students in our inclusive unit for differently-abled children

  • Offer creative expression through art, music, drama, or movement

  • Help in the school garden, composting, or sustainability programs

  • Capture stories through photography or storytelling

  • Lend a hand wherever it's needed—with presence and heart

This is not charity—it’s a mutual exchange rooted in dignity, trust, and shared humanity.
